Posted: January 28, 2011 in Software

Your working on a new script for a website but you don’t want to upload it to a server to test it you want to do all the testing on your pc, know your think how do I do it, or what is there to use that I don’t have to pay for. Well I think I’ve found your solution .

I should mention if your site is in html you don’t need Xampp, its only if you have php running in the background e.I login form etc.

Xampp allows you to install Apache and mysql on your pc and then run it to simulate what your site will look like and the functionality that it will have.
It allows you to test it to ensure that you fix any bugs that maybe in your script.

Once ready your ready to upload it to your site and release your site to the world.
to get Xampp go to :
Xampp appache server download

Download and install at your own risk

Sorry I took so Long to make the pack but here it is finally.
Click Here to download from Rapidshare
Hope you guys like the pack Open office is not included as its 136.70MB
I will be getting a megaupload link to soon give me a few hours.

FileZilla the free ftp client

Posted: January 21, 2011 in Software

Filezilla has gone from being just another ftp client to being of the most widely used ftp clients with updates and bug fixes being released some of the restrictions it used to have gone like one connection at any one time updates to its security systems with stronger encryption keys and a longer system log on before connection times out while the user goes inactive.

Modifications in recent years have seen its changes its look slightly but it still lacks the speed when uploading files, but I know what doesn’t only depend on the file being uploaded but also on the users connection and the connection that the server has and the load of the server.

If you need a ftp client to upload files to your personal or work server I would suggest you try fileZilla. (At your own risk I don’t endorse any software)

How much do I benefit from de-fragmenting my hard drive? What’s the point of waiting 1hr or so only to see less then 5% of my files de-fragmented. You as a user don’t actually see that much change apart from a lagging (slower) pc while the task is being performed which has an effect on all other tasks that you may attempt to perform.
The benefit is minimal you won’t be gaining a lot of space from defragging, if your doing this because your running low on space I would suggest to either delete old files and folder and programs that you no longer need or buy another hard drive internal (for internal check that u have enough space on your motherboard to check u have a place to connect it to and the type you will need IDE or SATA) or external which is more easier all u need is a spare usb port.
The point of defragmenting is compressing old files on your computer, don’t be mistaken defragmenting does not delete files for you.
I hope that the pos was helpful.

I will be creating a pack of essential programs, the reason for the pack, well every time I work on a clients computer and it requires a fresh install it takes forever to downl oad every program they want. Your probablly wordering wha. t happens if ur programs not in the re I’ll be making one pack every Six months to start with the will see how it goes and move on from there.
But it would be wired if I just throw a few programs I use in a pack so how about everyone post on the comment to let me know what u guys use or want me to include.
Starter pack will include the following
[ Winrar, firefox3,chrome, msn2010, eset smart security 32,64 31 days trail. (Open) office, skype 4.1 (until 5 is stabilised) iso burner, dameon tools lite ]

Dreamweaver vs eclipses

They say that the best things in life are free.
Eclipse is an open source program with plugins for languages like Java, php it also has other plugins for things like SVN aka version control small plug ins like these are making eclipse an industry standard most major organisations require their employees to have some knowledge or experience of eclipse and its core functionality.

The second point that’s making it an industry standard is the fact that its free, and in this recession what organisation wouldn’t choose eclipse.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that Dreamweaver isn’t good or that it lacks functionallity because it doesn’t, but with the price at which they are charging for it, you would think that they would at least cover a few basics like error detection it took them 5 versions of Dreamweaver to even implement it but in the new version its text prediction has improved its more responsive and faster in recognising variables already defined.

In conclusion I would use eclipse for php java and java script.

Error 390

Error 390 is just another error that’s windows vista users get when they attempt to update their service pack but the error is not only produced when updating the service pack but also for other updates e.g frameworks etc.
There are a number of different solutions that I have come across but I haven’t found any solution that’s easy for users to apply or one that’s short.
If anyone has come across it I would just going to the windows vista support form that’s the best place to start, if your a novice user I would suggest to stick to their advice to the letter, but at your own risk as some times they may ask you to modify Registry files.
At the moment I have no solution to recommend I’m working on it though.

you know this is one of the most common types of attacks people download software with out knowing how created it and what other people think of the product e.g. product reviews and customer reviews.
Sure most programs you know and have heard of but what about those that you know nothing about like a personal anti virus.
You look on their site and all the right information is there which has been copied from another site.
If you find that you have Malware on your computer or laptop then download the following program its free and easy to use.
My personal favourite Anti Malware tools is MalwareBytes anti Malware

or go to http://filehippo.com
Also do a bite of research check out other Malware software

file sharing windows 7 and XP

Posted: May 11, 2010 in Software

In my last post I talked about how to view all the pc in the network, well today I’m going to show you how to make your files more easy to share in your network between the two operating systems.
Let’s say you have set up your network and its secure.
Step1) Go on the pc or laptop and choose the folder you want share or hard drive up to you.
Step2) right click on your choosen folder or hard drive and click properties.
Step3) once in click on the sharing tab at the top.
Step4) tick the box that says share with network. (Caution if your network is not secure then I would strongly advice against this. Make your network secure then follow these steps.)
Step5) click apply then click OK. Wait for changes to apply then go on other pc or laptop and. Go In network and the sharing folder should appear there.
This is only a suggestion it does work but I have to stress how important it is that you have a Secure network unless you don’t mind other people seeing your personal stuff and copying it.
Do THIS at your own RISK.
Search on Google on how to secure a network.

If like me you have bought your self a PC or Laptop with windows 7 but are now trying to network XP and Windows 7, or have already networked the two operating systems but would like to view the worgroup computers then simply follow my instructions and you should be able to view them with out a problem.

“ensure that both computers are on and connected to the same network or internet connection.”

Ensure that both windows XP and the windows 7 have accounts with passwords if not add passwords to the accounts.

step 1) che
ck that both computer names are different you can do this by going to My Computer on Xp and on windows 7 Computer then click on properties. (if you know the names are different skip this step and go to step 2)

step 2) check that the WORKGROUP name is the same on both computers. examples Home or Work.

step 3) go to network on XP and click on view workgroup computers, then you should see all PC on your network then click on your preffered PC and connect to it.
